Three Sisters Care is seeking two new non-executive directors for our Board of Directors. Please submit your application by 11th February 2019 - interviews will take place week of 18th February 2019. Remuneration is in the form of Director Fees. We are active in our commitment to building a company that reflects the great city in which we operate and consequently, women, ethnic minorities and people with disabilities are especially welcomed to apply.

Position Description

You will be joining a successful company with healthy profits and big ambitions. We require a strong Board to direct the company's growth and expansion. Current Board membership comprises the three founders (who are still employed by the company) and a Treasurer, with the CEO, Finance Manager and Care Manager who present to the Board. We are looking for two additional non-execs with experience of taking a small company from £5million to £10million, with the condition that quality and innovation are preferred to growth. The company is profitable and seeking ways to funnel our profits into our social impact goals (providing training, employment and economic independence for British-Bangladeshi women in endemic unemployment) alongside increasing value for shareholders. Technology and future thinking are important parts of our brand values. We are exploring additional market areas for expansion such as care robotics, assistive technologies, supported living, extra care and residential care along with current trends in population dynamics. The new non-execs will be experienced in business growth and/or the private sector social care market.

About The Organisation

Three Sisters Care is a domiciliary care provider. We deliver adult social care and nursing care across North East London. 80% of our work is state contracts including local authorities and NHS. It is a 6 year old company growing rapidly in a dynamic sector. We currently have a turnover of £5million and solid expectations to double that within the next 2-3 years. We employ about 350 front line care assistants on payroll and 12 people in the office. Three Sisters Care has appeared in mainstream media such as Radio 4, Radio 5, The Guardian and the Victoria Derbyshire Show, as an advanced voice in the care sector and advocate for Living Wage and ethical employment. We are also working at the cutting edge of care robotics technology and have just completed a £2million consortium project (Innovate UK) to build a prototype care robot. We already punch way above our weight and are leading a new generation of modern, technologically literate and socially conscious care providers.

Selection Criteria

You will need practical experience of growing a business - this doesn't have to be in healthcare but you should have transferable skills and knowledge to apply to our sector. We are also seeking a social care specialist with experience of private sector delivery. We are ideally seeking two creative people with imagination and vision and evidence of realising their visions. Our sector is heavily regulated so there's a lot of bureaucracy and monitoring; however, we sit at the interface between healthcare, population shifts, robotics, immigration, ageing well, workforce automation and advancing women's economic independence. You need to be able to see the bigger picture and create strategies accordingly.
